Rule of hierarchies
 Objects or people above and in front have greater power/importance.

Rule of contrast
use of light and darkness to emphasize objects, create mystery and suspense.

Rule of repeition
for emphasis, reinforcement how ever u must K.I.S.S

Rule of alignment
Things are aligned with one another

Rule of proximity
Things are equal distances from one another and the edge of the document.

The rule of thirds

The rule of thirds you divide the shoot into nine equal squares. You align your piece on the intersection of the lines in order to make it more interesting 

Contrast is the difference in visual elements that we use to make things stand out. In the case of my poster I used contrast to make my text appear much clearer thus making it easier to read.
